on elections

I’m part of the school that believes in the following:

1.  There’s no such thing as a good candidate/politician; there are only bad apples and then there are the really rotten ones.

2.  The main purpose of elections is to alter people’s psychology.  Doing so changes people’s expectations for the economy or at least makes it easier to play out in people’s minds.  In short, elections have more to do with economics than politics.

3.  What is the meaning of pi?

    1) If you think that of politicians, you should also use that generalization on all people in general. The outlook that everyone is born bad rather than good.

    2) Economics is a huge part of it. But I think in terms of politics it’s more about personal economics rather than the country’s. Hence the reason Republicans see Democrats as Communists, and Democrats see Socialists as Communists and Socialists see Communists as Communists.

    3) Ask Kim, my math TA, she’s the one taking Math 574 in the grad doc. program for mathematics.
